The forma ‘major’ is a spectacular select variant from cultivated material originating from the USA. Large wide smooth tubercles, broad woolly areoles, hemispherical body structure with a very woolly top and bright pink flowers. Not given a cultivar status, yet it is second in beauty only to the best Japanese cv. ‘Latus’ among A. fissuratus v. lloydii cultivars. Seed produced on select (S) plants.
