Robust plants with thick, short, wide tubercles, sharply keeled and rounded at the base with prominent epidermal bumps and wrinkles. Round medium-sized areoles at the end of the tip. Typical A. retusus white flowers. Body color grey-green to purplish with some plants showing intense purple pigmentation!
